The Right Way to Chant This Mantra: 

It's not 'OM.' It's 'AUM'

AUM combines three sounds (aaa, ooo, mmm). You can still utter these three sounds even if you don't use your tongue. These are the root sounds of physical existence. Put all these three sounds together, and you get "AUM."  You open your mouth and say 'aa,' then slowly bring your lips together to close your mouth; you say 'oo,' and then completely close your mouth, and you say 'mm.' The Right Posture While Chanting AUM:

Initially, choose a place where the surroundings are very calm, and there is utter silence. This will help you focus on chanting the mantra AUM (for beginners). Sit on the ground to connect with the energy from Mother Nature. If you cannot sit on the floor, You can also sit on a chair or find a place to sit comfortably for a long time. The proper posture to sit is to keep your spine erect and unsupported. You are not slouching down or taking support of a wall or chair. When you sit in such a position, the vibrations of the sound of AUM energize all the seven major chakras in your body, which are aligned through your spine. Keep your eyes closed. Chant very slowly with correct pronunciation and clarity, emphasizing every syllable. Recite the syllables so that they match the rhyme of your breath. Watch your breath; when your mind is focused on breathing, you can feel the vibrations you inhale and exhale. Finally, For better Results, Chant AUM daily for a few minutes, preferably two times a day (morning and evening) but for a more extended period.
